Pictures from the 6/4/99 BFG Championship Solo 2 series
Round #2 was held on the concrete of the Converse, IN airport. It was hot (90's both days) and the surface is tough on tires but everyone had fun. They even had bingo Sat night, (ask Kent Weaver about the beans down his shirt). These shots are from heat one on Saturday. Results will be up shortly, assuming Bill Ozinga isn't forever sleeping in his Michigan log cabin. :)
Darrel Padberg can't quite do a proper Neon impersonnation under braking. The LR just won't come off the ground.
Darrel and wife Desiree finished 1-2 in SS in their 96 Chevrolet Corvette. Maybe if we keep pestering them they'll come to Nats this year.

Lynn Ritchie jumped from H-Stock to F-Mod this year in a 94 KBS MK VII but he's apparently still on Jack Burns Race Wheels.

However, Sunday everyone was again chasing this 92 Red Devil F500. Over the winter John Whitling purchased it from the Engstroms and managed his first BFG win on Sunday.
Reigning ESL champ Debbie Fessler continued her winning ways. Closer to the apex, Debbie, the cone's are your friends!
Ron Conrad won Street Touring in the former ES Honda Civic that just won't die. He had a busy weekend with a co-driver and 2 daughters running a Formula Jr. kart.
