Thanks to Mike Machi, my crew for the weekend, for taking these pics.
6 inches of rain fell the day before and left some major flooding outside T1
Look, green grass! We only had to travel 15 hrs from WI to see it.

My rented SM for the weekend, "Frosty" was rolled at Nelson Ledges last fall and was one week short of getting a new coat of paint.

VIR gives the gear box quite a workout, 2nd gear at the Oak Tree turn straight up to 5th. A better LSD would have helped the tire spin problems.

The first time going flat out through the Esses was much like the first time through the kink at Road America. It got the adrenaline flowing.

Tire smoke at the start of Sunday's group 2 race.
Qualified 19th out of 31 SM (yes, 31 of them) with a 2:29 but moved up to 7th at the end with a best lap of 2:25.4. After a 2 year layoff, the first time at VIR and brake bias problems I was very happy with the results. Low maintenance, solid little cars, I highly recommend the class. For Milwaukee area rentals see the Motorsports-Exchange.
More Pictures and results can be found on the North Carolina Region page. Thumbs up to all the friendly NCR/VIR folks who helped put on the event.
